About Me
I was born in 1984, live in Berlin (Germany) and am at the moment working as a Senior Software Engineer at ResearchGate, the leading social network for scientists and researchers. Before that, for three years, I was a developer at VZnet the company behind the largest german based social networks studiVZ, meinVZ and schülerVZ. There I was mainly working with and on open standards such as OpenSocial, OpenID, OAuth, OExchange or OEmbed and integrated them in the platforms.I’m also an active member of the OpenSocial Foundation and a committer and member in in the PMC of the Apache Shindig project, which is an open source implementation of an OpenSocial container.
I’m a huge enthusiast for an open Social Web and am very happy to be able to work actively on a way to reach this goal through working in a company dedicated to this and through promoting this with regular talks at various international conferences.
I studied Applied Computer science at the HTW-Berlin and finished with a Bachelor degree.
At the moment I am coding mostly in PHP and JavaScript due to my current job, but I’m also fluent in Java and am looking into findig the time to learn Python and Ruby properly.
